Surabhi Shastri is a seasoned Product Leader in the algorithmic recommendations & ads team at eBay NYC where she leads personalization & new sponsored recommendations. Her diverse interests lay at the intersection of technology, strategy, and social entrepreneurship. She has over 10 years of experience in building products, both as a software engineer and a product manager in industries as diverse as healthcare, music, and e-commerce.Today, at eBay, her team uses core AI technologies such as Deep Learning, Machine Learning, and Computer Vision to help eBay's 175 Million global users find the most relevant items for them, from over 1.1B listings on eBay. Prior to that, she was the Head of Data Products at Saavn, which grew to be India's largest music streaming service with 100M MAU, headquartered in NYC. At Saavn, she led the launch of the first algorithmic playlists on the app and the first product in India for over 2M artists to understand their streams, grow fans and monetize better. Prior to Saavn, Surabhi was a strategy consultant for Booz & Co.Surabhi received an M.B.A with honors from Columbia Business School & studied computer engineering prior to that. Surabhi considers herself a strategic thinker who outside of work enjoys volunteering towards forwarding non-traditional mediums of learning.
