Sharon Gao

Sharon is a Product Manager with an agile, data-driven training, and 5 years of experience leading mobile games, VR, AR, and eCommerce products from ideation to global launch. She’s worked as a Global Product Manager in industries as varied as renewable energy to VR games. Sharon’s PM style marries user-centered design and metrics-based decision making, with a flair for gamification and making things fun. Currently, she’s a Product Manager at LinkedIn. Prior to her current role, Sharon was a Product Manager at Advanced Microgrid Solutions, where she lead PM for AMS’s core revenue product, real-time AI optimization of distributed renewable assets, and worked cross-functionally to operate the world’s largest virtual power plant, with over 30MW and 200MWh under management. Additionally, she led development with five engineers on their Network Operating Center, integrating predictive data science models with asset management and condition monitoring software to maximize revenue. Sharon’s first gained experience in Product Management working at Anheuser-Busch InBev, managing engineers to implement hosted payments SDK and third-party integrations, and worked with Argentinian and NYC teams to create product requirements for payments, fraud, CRM, returns/refunds flow, tax invoicing, and warehousing solutions.
