Gil Kim

Once an FX broker on Wall St, Gil left the world of finance and entered the world of tech before breaking into Product. He worked as a Product Manager in a variety of domains and now is a Product Specialist at McKinsey & Company. Gil started his career in New York in the finance sector, working first as an Equity Trader and then as an Emerging Market FX Trader at BGC Partners. After more than four very successful years he started working at inSparq as an Associate Product Manager before moving to Black Rock, where he managed the implementation of Agile Product Development in the Digital Marketing Team. At his next position at Roko Labs, he was able to gain experience launching products in a wide range of sectors, such as healthcare, real estate, food delivery, and analytics spaces. After living in NYC for almost a decade, Gil decided to forego polar vortices & humid subways for the warm winters in Orange County where his first stop was Weedmaps where he held the position of a Senior Product Manager at Weedmaps. At his current position at McKinsey & Company, he is using his incredible set of skills and experience to assist clients in implementing solutions to build out their future team and organization in an effective manner. His communication skills and collaborative character make Gil an excellent person to help teammates and students alike to find their voice & expertise along the arduous journey of career switching.
