We are thrilled to announce we are now offering 8-week part-time Coding courses for Managers in our San Francisco and New York campuses. This is the very first coding course, specifically designed to give product managers the foundational knowledge of code they need to increase their skills and take their career to the next level.

coding for product managers

Almost every aspiring product manager we’ve met along the way, have asked us the same question, “Is it important to have a technical background in order to get a Product Manager job?” The answer: absolutely. Not all product managers are technical, but a majority of them have technical backgrounds.

Your job as a Product Manager is not to be the best developer on the team, but it’s important to earn respect from your engineers and know what it takes to build software. This is where learning to code comes in. Our goal is to help managers acquire a technical background and broaden their skill set to succeed in their careers.

Who is this for?

The course is perfect for product managers who are looking for a better understanding of the technical side of development, designers who want to learn programming, those working in marketing who want to transfer into product and entrepreneurs or anyone else who wants to break into tech.

What will students learn?

The new course will include hands-on practice to teach managers everything they need to know build a fully functional website. The class will provide an in-depth understanding of three core pillars of the web development process: front-end web development, back-end web development, and cloud-side deployment and hosting.

Front development is key in building the user interface and design. Students will graduate with an understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as how to build Responsive design websites and use Bootstrap.

Back-end Web Development includes Model-View-Controller framework and database configurations to launch a fully functioning website.

We will cover many coding languages and programs including Ruby on Rails, Databases, Cloud-side Code Deployment and Hosting. Students will also learn how to work collaboratively using Github and how to create automated testing for applications. They will also deploy their website using Heroku and Amazon AWS.
All graduates will receive an official Web Development Certificate. Find out more information on the available courses here: Coding for Managers
